According to leaked photos, Porsche has applied for a patent on the 918 Spyder in China, as usual the pictures leaked out so here we have a very first look at the final production version of the 918 Spyder.

As no surprise, the production version looks pretty similar to the concept versions, but it has finally received its door handles, mirrors, indicator lights, seat belts, a slightly different front bumper and redesigned air intakes in the front bumper. Also, the exhaust pipes are now placed in the right position and not on the car’s side as in the concept versions.

Power comes from a 570hp 4.6 liter V8 mated to a 200hp electric motor, the engine will be backed up by two electric motors which are rumored to have a combined output of 245 hp (183 kW). This could enable the model to develop approximately 795 hp (593 kW) and 575 lb-ft (780 Nm) of torque.

The production version of the Porsche 918 is expected to debut around September next year, priced at some 1 million USD.

New Porsche 911 RSR concludes successfully test drives. Development of the new Porsche 911 RSR model based on 991 of the present generation is coming to an end. In the Speedway Sebring International Raceway in Florida, USA, the GTE race car from Weissach completed another successful test on Thursday.

The successor of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR will be flown exclusively by the factory team Manthey Porsche AG at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the World Endurance Championship (WEC).

The vehicle will hold its racing debut on April 14 at the opening of the season at Silverstone WEC. In Sebring, the Porsche works drivers Richard Lietz (Austria) and Patrick Pilet (France) shared the wheel. Lietz compete in the WEC and Le Mans with the pilot Marc Lieb (Germany) in a Porsche 911 RSR with starting number 92. Patrick Pilet joins forces with Joerg Bergmeister (Germany) in the vehicle number 91. In the first two rounds of the WEC in Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps and Le Mans, will have the support of their colleague’s works drivers Romain Dumas (France / # 92) and Timo Bernhard (Germany / # 91). Is our goal is to be well prepared for the challenges of strong GTE class in the WEC and Le Mans. The Sebring circuit is well suited for a new vehicle subject to stringent tests.
