How to Repair an A6 Instrument Cluster


1. Open up the hood of your Audi A6. Locate the battery and the terminals connected to it. Loosen the bolt which fixes the negative cable to the terminal with a wrench. Lift the cable away from the terminal.
2. Locate the rubber bezel on the dashboard. You will find the bezel around the edges of the instrument cluster. Lift the bezel from around the dash and place it in a safe area for reattachment later.
3. Find the three screws attached to the instrument cluster and use the screwdriver to remove them. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the panel and remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard.
4. Replace any damaged bulbs by turning the bulb in a counterclockwise direction until it comes free from the cluster. Install the new bulbs by turning them in the opposite direction until they lock in place.
5. Reattach the instrument cluster or install a completely new one by following the removal steps in reverse. Attach the negative cable to the battery terminal. Turn on the engine to check that the instrument cluster works correctly.

How to Troubleshoot the BMW DSC System


1. Check the connection speed sensors located on each wheel hub. Locate them by following any wiring coming out of the wheel hub and following it until youve found the sensor. Check if the sensor is dirty or if its wiring has frayed or become disconnected somehow.
2. Check the brake components of your BMW by inspecting the rotors and brake pads that are on each corner of the car. If the pads are unevenly worn, your rotors are worn down (indicated by scratch-like marks on the surface of the rotor), or if the brakes are not functioning as well as they normally do, the DSC could be malfunctioning due to an issue with the braking system.
3. Check the adjustment sensors such as the steering angle sensor, lateral acceleration sensor, and pressure sensor by bringing the BMW to a licensed mechanic or BMW dealership. Using electronic diagnostic equipment, they can run tests on your DSC system to determine if any of the three aforementioned sensors are failing, and thus causing the issues with DSC.

How to Add Automatic Transmission Fluid at an Oil Change


1. Drive the vehicle for ten minutes and then place it in park on a level area. Check the automatic transmission fluid prior to completing the oil change since its best to check and add transmission fluid at operating temperature.
2. Locate the reservoir and dipstick labeled ATF. It will be found opposite of the regular motor oil, on the driver side of the vehicle and is colored red.
3. Remove the dipstick from the reservoir and wipe it clean with a rag. Replace the dipstick completely and remove it once more. This will give you an accurate reading of the transmission fluid. If the measurement reads full do not add any fluid at this time as over filling can cause damage to the transmission. If the measurement reads between the full and add lines or below the add lines, then add fluid.
4. Place a funnel into the reservoir neck where the dipstick normally sits. Pour a small amount of transmission fluid into the reservoir and allow it to funnel down completely. Check the transmission fluid levels again by removing the funnel and replacing the dipstick completely.
5. Remove the dipstick and read the measurement. Add more fluid, if needed. Continue this process until the measurement reads full. Once finished, proceed to the oil change, as the components and oil will now be cool enough to complete the oil change.

Carlsson’s Super GT – C25 Royale sports over 70 innovations and is 180 kilograms lighter than its basis Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, due largely to its complete real carbon exterior. Aimed at offering customers an exclusive ride that can be used as both, a ultra-fast race-like car or a daily ride, the Carlsson C25 Royale further highlights a full ceramic brake system and lower center of gravity, which allows more dynamic cornering ability and more agile handling.

Power is sent to rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission, enabling the 1,970kg luxury sports coupe to accelerate from 0-62mph in 3.7 seconds and hit a top speed of 219 mph.

This not only reduces the overall weight of the Super GT, it also effectively lowers the cars centre of gravity and allows more dynamic cornering ability and more agile handling as Carlsson has revised the vehicles entire weight distribution and installed a differential lock. The full ceramic brake system reduces the weight by 50 percent and reduces the unsprung mass for a more dynamic handling. The generously designed ceramic brake discs and the solid aluminium callipers allows later braking coming into bends while the revised electronics guarantee improved response, giving greater dynamism when coming off bends.

The C25 Royales outstanding performance data is impressive too. The strikingly beautiful sports coupé with the V12 biturbo engine achieves 753 hp (554 kW) and maximum torque of 1320 Newton metres (which is limited electronically to 1150 Newton metres). This allows the Super GT to race from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.7 seconds and to achieve a maximum speed of 352 kph.

Only one C25 per country guarantees the utmost in exclusivity

In addition, Carlsson (which has been recognised as an independent manufacturer for some years now by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority Kraftfahrtbundesamt) can offer one excellent unique selling point: Not more than 25 specimens of the C25 Royale are being made. And, to enhance the exclusivity of this ultra-limited edition still further, Carlsson is only delivering one vehicle per country. Six vehicles are already sold and will be delivered to the customers in 2011. It takes six month from order to delivery.

In particular, the intelligent C-Tronic® SUSPENSION developed by Carlsson guarantees excellent ride comfort. This system measures a whole range of parameters, like the spring rate, on a continuous basis, which allows it to detect the road conditions and the driving style. Where road conditions are poor, the C-Tronic® raises the residual spring travel, thereby providing optimal ride comfort. As soon as the surface conditions have improved, the system will lower the entire suspension completely automatically and achieve perfect cornering dynamics.

Kicherer has releases their new Impact program for new Mercedes-Benz ML Class Type 166.

The ‘Impact’ aero kit consists of a new front fascia with larger intakes and LED daytime running lights, wheel arch extensions, side skirts and a rear bumper apron with integrated diffuser and apertures for the twin-double trapezoidal tailpipes. The factory wheels have made way for Kicherer’s own RS2 items in a 22-inch diameter, while the ride height drops by around 25 mm thanks to the fitment of an electronic lowering module.

On the inside, the Germans offer the choice between Nappa leather, Alcantara and carbon fiber.

The release of the body kit is planned for the summer of 2012.

Mercedes Benz Door Lock Cylinder Replacement


1. Locate your nearest Mercedes Benz dealer and purchase the specific ignition lock cylinder for your year and model of vehicle.
2. Check your owners and maintenance manuals for useful tips pertaining to your specific Mercedes model.
3. Disconnect the battery and wait at least 15 minutes before removing the cylinder.
4. Extend the steering wheel as far out as possible and push the drivers seat back as far as it will go. This will help you access the ignition.
5. Place your key in the ignition and place a pointed object, such as the end of a paperclip, into the small hole to the left of the ignition.
6. Turn your key to the Acc position and ensure that the paperclip is as far into the hole as it will go.
7. Pull on the clip and key simultaneously, and the ignition cylinder will slide out.
8. Unplug the electric switch from the back of the cylinder and plug it into the back of the replacement cylinder. Slide the new cylinder into place. Reconnect the battery and test the ignition cylinder.

How to Install a Grille Insert on an Audi TT


1. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the farthest corner of the passenger side front grille and pry down on the tab that sits on the opposite side.
2. Pull the opposite corner of the passenger side grille piece out while pushing down on the tab with your flathead screwdriver. Pull the plastic grille piece out to remove it.
3. Insert your hand through the opening where the passenger side grille was installed and grasp one of the fasteners that are installed along the inside perimeter of the center grille insert.
4. Push the center grille insert out of the bumper by pressing down on the fasteners on the inside perimeter and pushing the plastic piece outward.
5. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the upper right or left corner of the drivers side grille insert and pry the plastic piece out of the bumper.
6. Position the new grille inserts into the bumper and install each by pressing the corners into the bumper so that the grille pieces snap into place. Press down along the circumference of the grille inserts to finish the installation and ensure that each piece is secured.

How to Change the Transmission Fluid on a ML430 Benz


1. Park the ML430 on a flat surface and make sure the engine is cool. If the car has been driven recently, wait at least 30 minutes for the heat to dissipate. Raise the car on jack stands to reach the underside of the engine more easily. Slide under the car and locate the transmission drain pan. It is a large, metal tank held with eight bolts beneath the middle of the engine.
2. Place a collection pan beneath the drain pan. Use the 1/2-inch socket wrench to remove all but one bolt on the drain pan. Wait 10 to 15 minutes for the fluid to drain into the collection pan. When it stops spilling from the side, place one hand on the drain pan and remove the final bolt. Lower the pan and pour the remaining fluid into the collection pan. Wash out the drain pan and bolts.
3. Remove the transmission filter under the drain pan with the 3/8-inch socket wrench. Attach the new transmission filter with the same bolts removed from the old one. Reattach the drain pan and lower the car from the jack stands.
4. Pop the engine hood by pulling the hood-release lever underneath the steering panel. Locate the yellow transmission dipstick above the drain pan. Pull it out and place a funnel into the tube. Pour in three quarts of five-speed transmission fluid. Replace the dipstick and close the engine hood.
5. Pour the used transmission fluid into a leak-proof container and take it to a recycling center. Many auto repair and auto parts shops also accept used car fluids.

How to Replace the Cabin Air Filter on Audi A3


1. Remove the cowling cover from rear of the engine compartment that covers the firewall. The cowling is secured with screws to the frame of the vehicle. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws and set the cowling off to the side.
2. Locate the cabin air filter compartment on the left side of the firewall, next to the heater fan. The air filter is 6-by-9 inches in size and 2 inches thick. It should be mounted vertically against the firewall. Remove the cover by using a screwdriver to lightly unfasten the lid.
3. Remove the cabin air filter from the compartment. Clean out the compartment by vacuuming out any dust. Wipe it down with a clean damp cloth.
4. Replace the old cabin air filter with the new filter and make sure filter is seated properly. Secure the lid on the filter compartment, making sure the pins snap into place.
5. Reattach the cowling cover over the firewall with screws. Remove all tools from the engine compartment.

Captiva andalan Chevrolet, kategori  non-sedan atas (high ) atau SUV, terdiri dua varian utama, yaitu 4x2 dan 4x4. Total penjualan ritel Captiva tahun lalu 2.115 unit atau menyumbang 48,5 persen penjualan Chevrolet di Indonesia.
Untuk versi 4x2 yang menggunakan mesin bensin, penjualan mencapai 1.784 unit atau di kategorinya mempeoleh pangsa 4,1 persen dari total penjualan SUV atas, 43.193 unit. Sedangkan versi 4x4,  yaitu 331 unit, Captiva memperoleh 49,1 persen dari total penjualan 674 unit.
Untuk sedan, termasuk taksi, dengan mengandalkan Lova dan kalos, GM berhasil menempatkan posisi empat di bawah Toyota, Honda dan Mercedes dengan penjualan 1.580 unit.

How to Diagnose a Faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor


1. Connect a OBDII-type engine code reader to your car using the connection port underneath the steering wheel area. Turn the ignition to the on position but do not start the engine. Let the code reader connect with the car computer to see if it will generate a code for a faulty mass air flow sensor. Confirm whether the sensor is actually triggering a malfunction code or not. Erase the code stored in the computer using the reader tools. Turn the car off and disconnect the code reader.
2. Raise the hood and locate the air filter box. Open the air filter box and pull out the old air filter. Use a shop vacuum to suck up all the debris, dust and dirt inside the filter box. However, do not poke the vacuum into the cavity going to the mass air flow sensor.
3. Turn off the vacuum and use a screwdriver to disconnect the hose clamp holding the intake hose to the bottom of the mass air flow sensor going toward the engine. Pull the hose off and place it clear of the sensor. Carefully disconnect the wiring to the mass air flow sensor itself. Use the screwdriver to carefully push the connection tab free if the wiring junction uses a snap-lock to connect. Place it safely clear of the sensor unit.
4. Use a screwdriver with a star-shape, or security Torx bit if the sensor is secured to the air filter box with screws having star-shape heads. Use a regular screwdriver if the screws are Phillips-head or flat-head style. Carefully loosen and remove the sensor screws and put them in a safe place to avoid losing them. Use the shop rag to carefully twist the sensor back and forth by hand until it comes free from the air filter box.
5. Move the sensor unit to a clear workspace. Put a shop rag underneath it and do not touch the sensor mechanism inside. Attach the spray nozzle to your bottle of mass air flow sensor cleaner and spray the sensor clean with five or six good sprays. Spray downward so the excess hits the rag underneath. Examine the wire inside without touching it to confirm it is clean. Let the unit air dry on the rag for 30 minutes.
6. Reattach the sensor, without touching the inside wire mechanism, to the air filter box and following the above removal steps in reverse order. Install a new air filter in the air filter box and close it up. Confirm you reconnected the sensor wiring, re-installed the sensors screws, reattach the air hoses and re-tightened the hose clamps. Check for missing tools as well. Close the hood and restart the car. Let the engine warm up and drive it to check if the sensor gives off a trouble code again. Replace the sensor unit completely if it does.

1. Locate the Stop-Catch release button located on the top of the seat, just below the headrest. Depending on your model, the Stop-Catch release button is usually on the side that is closest to the door of the vehicle.
2. Press and hold in the Stop-Catch release button on the seat with one hand.
3. Lift the headrest up toward the ceiling of your Mazda with your other hand while continuing to press in the Stop-Catch release button. You will hear a clicking noise as it passes through all of the adjustment notches.
4. Pull the headrest out of the two adjustment holes to remove the headrest completely.

How to Get Invited to NYC Fashion Week


1. Consider taking on a part or full-time job at one of the many exclusive boutiques or high-end department stores in Manhattan. If you make a name for yourself in the field, you may receive an invitation to one or more of the designers shows. And even if you dont get a personally addressed invitation, you may be able to get a pass to attend from the one of your co-workers.
2. Volunteer your time to help out during Fashion Week. You can contact IMG, which runs the event, and ask if you can be added to their volunteer list. Just make sure to do so well in advance, since many people are competing for limited openings to do this.
3. Sign up for some fashion classes at one of the well-respected fashion schools in NYC. Many students are invited to help with the shows or to at least to come and watch, so they will get some first-hand experience with this important event.
4. Become friendly with salespeople at the better stores where you shop. Sometimes they have passes that they can offer to their best customers, so dont be afraid to ask.
5. Start writing for a fashion magazine or website, or start a fashion blog. If you have press credentials, you can apply through the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week website to cover the events. Understand, though, that space is limited and goes to the well-known media representatives first (see Resources below).
6. Get dressed up and stand outside the guards at fashion week if all else fails. Once all of the invited guests are seated, if there is extra standing room, well-dressed people who are on hand can sometimes be allowed in. (Just keep in mind that the more well-known designers shows are usually packed.)
7. Realize that each designer makes up her own guest list, so you will need to be invited separately to each show you plan to attend.
8. Understand that there are a few ways to buy tickets to attend. American Express offers special seats to a small number of its cardholders. In addition, Couture Fashion Week sells tickets at different price points to see the high-end international designers collections (see Resources below).

The winter months have not been kind to our matte gray 2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo, and since you cant just run the thing through your local car wash, our oddly shaped little hatchback has spent more days dirty than clean. Moral of the story: If you live in a cold-weather state where you expect to get regular doses of the white stuff, matte paint probably isnt for you. Not to worry, though, as the Veloster Turbo is offered in plenty of pretty, car wash-friendly colors.

Well have a lot more to talk about regarding the Velosters cleanability in forthcoming updates, and were even planning a trip to the Dr. Beasleys office – the company that created the special matte paint detailing kit for the Hyundai – to have their experts show us how its done. For now, lets spend some time talking about what weve learned about the turbocharged hatch during its honeymoon phase here in the Autoblog Garage.As a daily driver, the Veloster Turbo is a pleasant little thing – easy to use while bobbing around town and comfortable enough to not warrant complaint after longer stints behind the wheel. Plus, moving or standing still, this car turns heads like you wouldnt believe. Even to my trained eye, I often find myself doing a double-take when Ive parked the car for the night, just to look back for one more glance. I even got two hearty thumbs-up from fellow Velosters driver (base cars) out on the road. That three-door configuration has proved to be fairly functional thus far – not so much for passengers (ingress and egress is easier than a normal coupe, but less useful than a traditional four door), but having an extra door to throw things in the rear seat is incredibly useful. All good things in terms of the overall package.During one leg of an already long weekend of driving, a friends six-year-old kid was riding along in the back seat. When he got into his car seat, without even being asked, he said, "Its not big enough for my head." In other words, theres not a lot of rear head room in the Veloster.

2013 Hyundai Veloster Turbo: February 2013

Only a few of us have driven the Veloster as of this writing, but were already having debates about at least one of the Velosters driving aspects. For example, I find the six-speed manual shifter of our test car to be pretty objectionable in terms of overall user engagement – I think the throws between gears are short, sure, but the act of moving the stick isnt pleasing. Its notchy, and not in a good way, and the short, stubby stick feels flimsy. Its noisy when clicking between gears, too. I seem to be the only person having this issue, however, as senior editor Seyth Miersma has now called me an fool on several occasions – he praises the Velosters box, citing short throws and solid engagement. Ill be curious to see how the rest of the staff regards it as the months progress.One issue, though, is that theres a lot of wind noise inside the cabin while driving on the highway – enough so that when my phone rings via Bluetooth and Im driving above 60 miles per hour, I feel like I have to shout just so the person on the other end can hear me above all the racket. I recently had a phone conversation with editor-in-chief John Neff while driving the Veloster, and he noted that he could barely hear me over all the racket. Some of the issue could also be placement or quality of the mic, too.Since the cars delivery in mid-January, weve added just over 2,500 miles to the odometer and according to our handy-dandy logbook, were averaging 26.8 miles per gallon in relatively mixed cold-weather driving. Thats slightly lower than the EPA-estimated 28 mpg combined rating (24/35 city/highway), but quite admirable considering how enthusiastically we tend to drive. Well see how that changes over the coming months.
