1. Acquire a cassette tape adapter (if the vehicle has a tape player in it, as many older BMW models do). You can purchase this handy little device for around $20 at most electronics, audio or department stores. Simply insert the plug into the headphone jack and put the tape into the tape player to transport the sound from the iPod through the tape deck and subsequently out of the BMWs speakers.
2. Purchase an FM transmitter. This small broadcaster plugs into the iPod and transmits the audio within a small radius, allowing the antenna on the vehicle to receive it and play it on an empty FM radio station. (An empty station has either complete, or nearly complete, static; this means no radio stations are broadcasting locally on that particular frequency, making it open for FM transmitters to use.)
3. Have an auxiliary cable wired into the BMWs stereo by a car audio specialist. This small cable will run from the internal guts of the stereo into the cabin of the vehicle, allowing you to insert it into the headphone jack of the iPod and play it through the stereos auxiliary input.
4. Bring the vehicle to a car audio specialist and ask to have an iPod integration dock installed. This option will prove the most, but some car stereos allow you to plug a small adapter into the data dock on the iPod and use a digital display on the stereo to cycle through the iPods menu and operate it in almost the same way as if you were holding the iPod in your hand. (Note that this option may require a full replacement of the BMWs stereo.)

1. Open your hood and locate the air filter box and intake tube. Turbo models will feature a heftier intake that attaches to the turbocharger, while naturally aspirated engines have intake that attaches to only the throttle body.
2. Disconnect the electrical wiring, hoses and mass air flow meter that attach to the factory intake tube and set aside for use with the new intake system. Unfasten the hardware that holds the intake tube in place and remove slowly, careful not to spill any debris. If necessary, use a flat-head screwdriver to assist you in removing the intake tube.
3. Unscrew the bolts that hold the stock air filter box into place. Remove this factory intake box completely and dispose of it properly, as you will not need the filter or its housing box for the new install.
4. Check the new intake tube and count the number of holes that are drilled into the side. If there are more holes than hoses that attached to the old setup, plug the unnecessary holes with the grommets that came with your intake kit.
5. Attach the new intake tube to your A4 directly as the old one was removed. This part will mimic the old intake tube in design and functionality, while the filter itself will be positioned differently and provide better performance. Secure the intake tube with the silicone coupling that came with your cold air intake kit. There should also be a clamp ring that came with your kit to hold the silicone coupling and intake tube into place.
6. Attach the downward piece of the intake tubing system to the newly installed tube from Step 5. By this point, the intake tube should extend to the front of the engine bay and underneath the front of the car. The cold air will come in through the bottom of the front side of the vehicle, increasing horespower and fuel efficiency in your Audi A4.
7. Spray down the new air filter with the necessary lubricant before installing. Position the cone air filter that was provided in the cold air intake kit onto the downward intake tube. Tighten the clamp fitted around the cone filter to secure into place. Reconnect any remaining hoses and wiring that were removed at this time.

1. Drive the Audi Allroad somewhere where there is ample room in the rear to load the seats, and enough room for the trunk lid to open fully. Place the Audi in Park and pull the parking brake to keep it in place.
2. Turn the Allroad off and go to the rear. Open the trunk lid and extend it fully. Remove any items you have in the rear of the Audi. Fold the back seats down for additional maneuvering room, by pulling up the latches on either side of the rear seat, and then pushing the seat backs down.
3. Lift the third row bench seat up and slide it into the rear of the Audi with the seats facing the rear. If the third row bench is too heavy for you, then have an assistant help you. Align the bolt holes on the bottom runners with the four bolt holes in the floor. A flashlight can be very helpful.
4. Drop a bolt into each bolt hole and rotate them down by hand. Once all the bolts are in place, wrench the bolts down, until they are flush with the bolt holes. Push on the seat to make sure it does not budge under pressure.
5. Close the rear of the Audi, fold the rear seats back up, and turn the car on. Take the Audi for a test drive and listen for any creaks in the third row that would indicate looseness. Have the assistant ride in the third row to check this as well.

1. Press the NAV button on the MMI console to open up the navigation function on your Audi.
2. Use the control knob to scroll to and highlight Cancel Route Guidance.
3. Press down on the control knob to select Cancel Route Guidance. The destination will be removed from the navigation system and you will no longer receive direction prompts from the MMI system.

1. Pop the hood of your BMW and disconnect the battery terminals. Sit in the drivers seat and lower the steering wheel to its lowest position within the steering column.
2. Locate the bezel around the outskirts of the instrument cluster. This can come in either plastic or rubber. Remove the two screws attached to the bezel with a Phillips screwdriver. Pull the bezel out of the dashboard.
3. Remove the three mounting screws which fix the instrument cluster to the dashboard. Slide the panel out and remove the battery connector from the rear. You can either pull it out with your hand or use a screwdriver to pop it out.
4. Pull the instrument cluster fully out of the dashboard. Clean the space left in the dashboard with a cloth to ensure there is no dust or debris, which can get into the instrument cluster.
5. To reattach the instrument cluster or insert a new one, install the cluster following the removal steps in reverse.

1. Visit the Audi dealership locator website. Theres a link to the site in the References section below. Enter the ZIP code or city you live in. Click Search radius to select dealerships by distance, from 10 to 200 miles away. A new page will open and list the Audi dealers within the selected radius of your location; the closest dealers will show up on the list first.
2. Click on the dealerships name. Call the phone number that appears to set up an appointment. Tell them that you need a key replacement.
3. Bring your drivers license to the dealership; you will be asked for ID verification when you arrive. A qualified locksmith will create a new key for you. Youll receive the key at the dealership. The locksmith will also disable your old key, if you have a new Audi that uses the Audi Smart Key.

1. Set the clock. Pull the adjuster button on the left side of the on-board computer screen towards you. Pull it until the date and time display appears. Turn the button to adjust the date and time.
2. Set a speed warning on the car. Press the adjuster button when you reach the desired speed on the speedometer. To clear the speed warning, press the button for at least one second while the vehicle is moving.
3. Set the seat heating for the driver and the passenger. The seat heating knobs are in the four-knob arrangement in the center console under the air vents, with the driver control being the knob closest to the driver and the passenger one the knob closest to the passenger.. Press the knob to turn on the heater. Turn the knob to adjust the temperature.
4. Set the cruise control. While driving press the button on the front of the left control stick containing the indicators when you reach the desired speed. Press the button on the end of the stick to store this speed. Press the brake pedal to switch off cruise control, or slide the front button to the left.
5. Set the drive mode. With the brake applied, move the gear stick to either P for park, R for reverse, D for drive, or S for sports driving. Press the throttle gently to move the car.

1. Disconnect the cable that goes to the negative terminal on the battery. Locate the blower motor. This will almost always be in the dashboard or the firewall area of the car, but the location depends on the model of the car. On some cars, like the Audi A4 for instance, the blower is located behind the glove box, so the glove box must be removed. On other models, the BMW E46 3 Series for example, the blower motor is located just under the windshield and is accessed from the rearward part of the engine bay.
2. Remove any parts that restrict access to the blower. This may be the center console, the glove box or the housing that contains the cabin air filter, often located in the engine bay. Consult a workshop manual for your specific car for detailed instructions on what needs to be removed to access the blower motor.
3. Remove the screws or bolts that hold the blower motor in place. Use a socket and ratchet for bolts or a screwdriver for screws. Disconnect the electrical connections from the blower motor. These are frequently extremely difficult to access, so patience is the key. Once the connections for the blower are disconnected and the blower is unbolted, remove it from the car.
4. Install the new blower in the opposite order that the old blower was removed. Connect the wiring harness or wires to the new blower. Reinstall any parts that were removed to access the blower motor. Turn the car on to make sure that the new blower motor is working.

1. Determine whether the full instrument cluster needs to be replaced. If some of them bulbs arent working then you simply need to replace the broken bulbs. Open the hood and use the wrench to remove the bolt clamp from the negative terminal. Lift the negative cable from the terminal.
2. Lower the steering wheel to its lowest possible position within the steering column. Use a phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws fixed to the bezel. The bezel will either be rubber or plastic. You can find the bezel on the dashboard around the instrument cluster.
3. Remove the three mounting screws which fix the cluster to the dash. Slide the cluster out of the dash. Unhook the electrical connector from the back of the cluster.
4. If the bulbs in the cluster are what needs repairing, simply unscrew the damaged bulbs and replace them with full functioning LEDs. If the problem is worse then simply replace the full cluster.
5. To install the cluster and bezel, simply follow the removal steps in reverse. Reattach the negative cable to the negative battery terminal. Turn on the engine to check that the instrument cluster now works correctly.

1. Loosen the bolt on the tension pulley using a belt tensioner.
2. Pull the belt off of the alternator, water pump, tension pulley and any other devices it is attached to using your hands.
3. Inspect the new belt to make sure there are no breaks or cracks on either side of it.
4. Place the new belt over all of the pulleys that you removed the old belt from. Double check to make sure that the raised parts of the belt are properly seated in all the grooves of the pulleys.
5. Tighten the bolt on the tension pulley using the belt tensioner.

1. Remove the coil pack cover with a ratchet. The cover is held on by six bolts.
2. Unplug the coil that needs to be replaced.
3. Remove the coil with a ratchet. The coil is held on by two 10mm bolts. Once you have the bolts removed, pull firmly and the coil will come out.
4. Install the new coil and tighten it with a ratchet.
5. Reconnect the coil connector.
6. Attach the coil pack cover back onto the valve cover and tighten the bolts with a ratchet.

1. Insert one of the two plug ends of auxiliary cable into your iPhones headphone jack. Regardless of whether you are using an iPhone 4, or an older model like the 3G or 3GS, the headphone jack is located on the top of the device.
2. Connect the second of the two plug end of the auxiliary cable to the AUX input on your S430s car stereo faceplate.
3. Turn on your S430 and press AUX on your car-stereo faceplate. This will activate the AUX input and allow you to listen to your iPhone in your car.

1. Flick the key out as if you were going to be opening the door. Locate the thin line that goes across the width of the key parallel with the buttons on the key and which is where the two halves of the key meet.
2. Wedge a thin screwdriver or similar tool carefully into this dividing line. Note that this is not the same thing as the holes or the grooves that are located inside the recess of the key fob.
3. Twist the screwdriver slightly to separate the key portion from the fob portion of the key fob assembly. Wedge the screwdriver into the top of the fob, the sides and the back and twist until the two sides separate. This may take some force, but be very careful not to break the plastic.
4. Open the small plastic ringed end of the lid that is located in the side of the key that does not have the button on it. The lid can be gently pried open with your nail or even the screwdriver, but be careful not to break the lid as you pull it out. Do not touch the computer chip under the lid.
5. Remove the old battery and install the correct new battery, available from the Audi dealer. Replace the lid and snap the two halves of the key back together.

Front Bumper
1. Lift the front of the Audi, using a jack, to bring the front wheels off the ground. Support the car on jack stands.
2. Open the hood of the Audi A3 and use the T30 Torx screwdriver to unscrew (counterclockwise) the three T30 Torx screws located at the top edge of the front bumper, above the grille, . On the Audi A4, remove both T25 Torx screws, located on top of both headlights, and loosen both screws found on both sides of the headlights with a T25 Torx screwdriver. Gently pull out the headlights and disconnect the wiring by pressing the metal clips behind them.
3. Remove the three nuts located at both front fenders of the A4, using the ratchet wrench. Gently pull out both lower grilles located by the fog lights and loosen, but do not remove, both bolts there, using an Allen Wrench.
4. Remove (on the A4) the four T25 Torx screws located at the edge of both front wheel arches, with one screw located underneath each arch liner, and pull out the arch liners, two thin plastic pieces located above the front wheels.

Remove the bolts located underneath the headlights of the Audi.
Remove the two bolts located underneath both headlights of the Audi A3 at the inside of the front bumper, using a ratchet wrench.
6. Remove the seven T25 Torx screws located at the bottom edge of the front bumper of the A3.
7. Unplug the wiring and tubing located inside the front bumper (on the drivers side) to disconnect them from the fog lights, horn, and the left headlight washer. Disconnect the right headlight washer tube, located at the passengers side of the front bumper.
8. Gently pull and remove the front bumper of the Audi.
Rear Bumper
9. Open the trunk and pull and remove both trunk liners, located at either side of the trunk, and remove the five nuts located at both sides of the rear bumper using a ratchet wrench.
10. Remove the three bolts located at the edge of both rear wheel arches. Pull out the rear arch liners and remove the two T25 Torx screws located at each side of the wheel arches.
11. Lay down on the ground and, from underneath, remove both T25 Torx screws, located at the bottom edge of the rear bumper.
12. Pull gently to remove the rear bumper of the Audi.
13. Reverse the steps to replace both front and rear bumpers with new ones.

1. Open up the hood of your Audi A6. Locate the battery and the terminals connected to it. Loosen the bolt which fixes the negative cable to the terminal with a wrench. Lift the cable away from the terminal.
2. Locate the rubber bezel on the dashboard. You will find the bezel around the edges of the instrument cluster. Lift the bezel from around the dash and place it in a safe area for reattachment later.
3. Find the three screws attached to the instrument cluster and use the screwdriver to remove them. Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear of the panel and remove the instrument cluster from the dashboard.
4. Replace any damaged bulbs by turning the bulb in a counterclockwise direction until it comes free from the cluster. Install the new bulbs by turning them in the opposite direction until they lock in place.
5. Reattach the instrument cluster or install a completely new one by following the removal steps in reverse. Attach the negative cable to the battery terminal. Turn on the engine to check that the instrument cluster works correctly.

1. Drive the vehicle for ten minutes and then place it in park on a level area. Check the automatic transmission fluid prior to completing the oil change since its best to check and add transmission fluid at operating temperature.
2. Locate the reservoir and dipstick labeled ATF. It will be found opposite of the regular motor oil, on the driver side of the vehicle and is colored red.
3. Remove the dipstick from the reservoir and wipe it clean with a rag. Replace the dipstick completely and remove it once more. This will give you an accurate reading of the transmission fluid. If the measurement reads full do not add any fluid at this time as over filling can cause damage to the transmission. If the measurement reads between the full and add lines or below the add lines, then add fluid.
4. Place a funnel into the reservoir neck where the dipstick normally sits. Pour a small amount of transmission fluid into the reservoir and allow it to funnel down completely. Check the transmission fluid levels again by removing the funnel and replacing the dipstick completely.
5. Remove the dipstick and read the measurement. Add more fluid, if needed. Continue this process until the measurement reads full. Once finished, proceed to the oil change, as the components and oil will now be cool enough to complete the oil change.

1. Insert a flathead screwdriver into the farthest corner of the passenger side front grille and pry down on the tab that sits on the opposite side.
2. Pull the opposite corner of the passenger side grille piece out while pushing down on the tab with your flathead screwdriver. Pull the plastic grille piece out to remove it.
3. Insert your hand through the opening where the passenger side grille was installed and grasp one of the fasteners that are installed along the inside perimeter of the center grille insert.
4. Push the center grille insert out of the bumper by pressing down on the fasteners on the inside perimeter and pushing the plastic piece outward.
5. Insert the flathead screwdriver into the upper right or left corner of the drivers side grille insert and pry the plastic piece out of the bumper.
6. Position the new grille inserts into the bumper and install each by pressing the corners into the bumper so that the grille pieces snap into place. Press down along the circumference of the grille inserts to finish the installation and ensure that each piece is secured.
